Easter Day

Easter is coming. We are all looking forward to Easter. My host mum and I started preparing for Easter. We made a big carrot cake.

We prepared a lot of ingredients for the cake: flour, low-gluten flour, some carrots, cream, eggs, white sugar and so on. First, we put eggs, flour and low-gluten flour into the mixer. Then we put white sugar, baking powder and cream in and whipped them together. Next, we added some milk and chopped carrots to the batter and began to stir. We cut out a round baking paper, spread it in a round mold and poured the batter in. The oven was preheated to 160 degrees before we put the cake inside. Then we turned the oven to 200 degrees and baked the cake for 20 minutes more. Finally, we put the whipped coconut cream on the finished carrot cake.  

Shara, Luna, Julia and I also painted Easter eggs during the holiday. First of all, just hallow out all the egg. Second, put paint in the bowl. Then, put the eggs in the bowl of paint and soak them for a while.

We also played the Easter game of finding eggs and had a big dinner. We had a good time at Easter.

My Easter

On Friday afternoon, my host family and I went to draw Easter eggs. First, we drew some patterns on the eggs with wax. Next, we put the patterned eggs in the paint. Before that we had to wait for the wax to dry completely on the eggs. Because if the wax was not dry, it would be washed away when put in the pigment. Then, put it in the paint and the egg had two colored lines. Then, we repeated until the background was ready. Finally, in order to make sure that the colors would not fade, we burnt the eggs with fire. So the color would be on top forever without discoloration or blending.

On Saturday morning, we hunted for the eggs. A person put eggs in every corner of the house. And a few others would go and find them. It was said that whoever found the golden egg would be the luckiest in the next year.

In the evening of Sunday, we went to a Easter Turkey dinner with other family members. I figured out the difference between supper and dinner through this experience.

I had a lot of fun during Easter weekend. I love Easter.

A happy Eater

Easter was coming. I went shopping with my host family. We bought a lot of rabbit-shaped chocolate and some cakes. After that we went home and had a big dinner.

The next morning, I didn’t get out of bed until 9:30. After breakfast, we went to the nursery home to visit Keith’s father. He was a good and nice old man and he wore a smile all the time. At noon, we had our first lunch outside. I ordered a hamburger and a coke at KFC. In the evening, Ari, Max, Asher and I played outside. We came home half an hour before dinner.

On Easter morning, I got up early. After a simple meal, we started preparing for the cake for lunch. It took us a long time to make it. Though it was hard, the cake was delicious and tasty. In the afternoon, Ari and I played cards together. The Easter dinner was big with turkey and pudding.

I like Easter.
